PURACANE Rocks the Bowery Electric, and Hits The CMJ Charts!

Stay Tuned: "All Over Now" Music Video & Summer Festival Shows!

Trip-hop group Puracane rocks their Bowery Electric show on Thursday, April 22nd show; and after hitting the airwaves, hits the CMJ charts at #27 for April 26th. Next up for Puracane: new music video to be released for the song, "All Over Now," and upcoming summer music festival shows, and working on a new EP.

The Bowery Electric show was Puracane’s way to celebrate their recently released album on Astraea Records, “I’ve Been Here the Longest.” It paid off because it was well received by the large crowd and garnered rave reviews including from the Sentimentalist Magazine, who wrote:

“The band, fronted by singer and British expat Ali Rogers, delivered a pleasant mix of downtempo and danceable tunes, blending guitar, drums and organic percussion with electronic atmospherics and groovy, bass-driven melodies...her vocal range and strong alto voice were still palpable as she belted out the notes, alternating between high and low, often within the same song. While the band’s sound is largely reminiscent of the early days of trip hop (Morcheeba, Lamb, and very early Sneaker Pimps), a little jazz and pop influence was also evident.”

Puracane continues to hit the airwaves across the United States throughout New York, New Jersey, California, Michigan, Oregon, Colorado, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Nebraska. This has propel the group into the CMJ charts this week Monday, April 26th at #27, charting with tops bands like Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty/Heartbreakers, She and Him, The Dead Weather, Goldfrapp, and Gorillaz. Back in 2000, Puracane top the CMJ charts at #9.
